Throughout September and October

Dementia friendly screenings at South Hill Park posterBracknell Film Society presents a series of specially designed screenings for people living with dementia, and their carers. September is World Alzheimer’s Month, so please spread the word about these vital screenings.

Doors open 1.30pm, film starts 2pm, with a short interval included. Tickets £5.50.

At South Hill Park Arts Centre.

Worthing Film Club: Ten Year Anniversary Screenings at Coast Cafe des Artistes at 7.30pm with a £4 admission fee.

Wacky Wednesdays: Hidden Gems series. Films you might have missed on your filmic life’s tour of the world, but that you really ought to enjoy!

20 September: Danger Diabolique (1968) Like a high budget Pop Art version of the 60’s Batman TV show featuring a score by Morricone.

27 September: Such A Beautiful Day (2012)  Legendary animator Don Hertzfeldt’s existential odyssey about memory, life, death and everything in between.

4 October: Deep Red (1975) The giallo to end all gialli. Horror maestro Dario Argento at his best with legendary Goblin soundtrack.

11 October: Baghdad Cafe (1987) Based on Carson Mcullers novella, this beautifully shot bizarre and charming fable is a dose of perfect filmmaking.

Scalarama: Brighton and Beyond

Get involved with the exciting network of screenings that form September’s annual Scalarama Film Festival. Anyone can add their screening to the line-up – take a look at how your venue can get involved.

In the Scalarama Brighton and Beyond region you can expect a diverse choice of films including visionary punk art film and supper at Bom-Bane’s in Kemp Town, Brighton and an extremely rare screening of a true underground cult film at Fabrica.

Scalarama is extending its reach this year, with the first ‘Beyond’ screening taking place in Seaford, and the Electric Palace in Hastings also adding one of its famed B Movie Fan Club screenings to the line up. Here’s the trailer for Scalarama Brighton and Beyond 2017, to whet your appetite!
