Mike Leigh takes a portrait of J.M.W Turner Britain’s greatest landscape artist. Turner’s close relationship with his ailing father and the more complex ones involving the women in his life, are beautifully realized by Spall, a muttering, opinionated eccentric whose eye is nonetheless always, quite literally, on his work.
