Berg Regional Film Trail – CINECITY

Berg Regional Film Trail – CINECITY
7 – 28 November 2014

CINECITY are working with a network of new partners across East Sussex to deliver the BERG Film Trail in November 2014. The trail is a tour of early 1960s ground-breaking cinema to complement BERG, a free exhibition at the University of Brighton Gallery (22 Nov – 20 Dec). BERG celebrates the 50th anniversary of Ann Quin’s brilliant debut novel and is presented by CINECITY The Brighton Film Festival. Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

CINECITY are working with The Electric Palace in Hastings, The Towner Art Gallery in Eastbourne, Lewes Film Club and Forest Row Film Society to present four distinct cinema events. The confirmed line up so far includes a screening of Bryan Forbes’ adaptation of L Shaped Room with introduction by leading academic Professor Steve Chibnall of De Montfort University; a special event featuring the film work of the legendary 60s cult figure William Burroughs introduced by Barry Miles, author of William Burroughs, A Life; and a ‘Cinemas of The Mind’ discussion around the themes raised in Roman Polanski’s Repulsion.
