Lighthouse, Creative Skillset, and Film Hub South East announce candidates selected for Guiding Lights 2014
Guiding Lights, the UK film industry’s leading mentoring scheme, has announced the names of the 15 directors, writers, producers and exhibitors selected for the 2014 scheme.
This year Film Hub South East has partnered with the programme to support the participation of three exhibition professionals from the South East. We are delighted to announce that the succesful exhibition applicants for this year are:
– Jonathan Hyde, Eyes Wide Open Cinema
– David Parker, Oska Bright
– Rebecca Marshall, The Electric Palace Cinema
The scheme, supported by Creative Skillset and now in its sixth round, offers succesful applicants nine months of one-on-one mentor support from established film industry professionals, as invitations to industry training and networking events.
More than 250 candidates applied for sought-after places on the acclaimed scheme, which aims to equip participants with the skills and contacts they need to take their careers to the next level. Successful mentees must demonstrate a solid track record in their fields, and the potential to help shape the creative landscape of the future.
Matching the Guiding Lights mentees with leading industry professionals is a careful and time-consuming task, with the management team aiming to pair each participant with a mentor whose skills and experience will directly complement and enhance their own. This year’s mentors will be announced in due course.
